XMAS GARDEN PARTY

Yesterday the hubby and I hosted our annual Xmas party and we were so lucky to have a perfectly sunny day as I had planned an outdoor garden party. I love entertaining and it is always lovely to bring together all of our friends to celebrate the year before everyone heads off for the summer break.

I wanted to create a non-traditional Xmas tablescape with a beautiful vintage summer garden feel. I used pretty paper decorations and fresh hydrangeas in gorgeous blue and purple shades as the focal point of the table, the hydrangeas were placed in an array of vases and teapots and sprinkled with silver glitter to match the Xmas crackers. I scattered lanterns filled with battery operated fairy lights and handmade soy candles in vintage teacups around the table to create mood lighting come evening.
The linen and cutlery were kept simple and the marquee provided the perfect amount of shade.
