TRIED & TESTED - APRIL

As some of you are aware I have embarked on a journey of looking into healthy alternatives when it comes to cosmetic and personal care products. I am only in the very early stages of learning about what ingredients are actually in our beauty products, but am passionate about making informed choices when it comes to what I put on my skin.

Over the past few weeks I have been lucky enough to have been sent some gorgeous beauty samples, here I share my top five tried and tested beauty products for this month.

1. Tailor - Masque: It is not very often I get a chance to do a face masque but when I do I like to feel it is actually doing something. The Tailor Masque does exactly that, it detoxes and exfoliates and you can feel it absorbing the dirt from your skin as it dries. I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing it felt on my skin and I love that it is made in NZ and not tested on animals. If you are looking at trying an all-natural product with no nasties I recommend Tailor Skincare, they also offer the masque in a three pack for those of you wanting to test it out.

2. Olive - Olive Leaf Rosehip Oil: This was my first experience using rosehip oil after hearing many great things about the benefits of this product. The Olive Leaf Rosehip Oil is a highly concentrated, collagen enhancing blend for your face which promises to naturally improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks, fine lines and pigmentation, promoting smoother and perfectly hydrated skin. I applied 2-3 drops to my face (morning and night) after cleansing and have already noticed a difference after using this product for just over a week. My face feels hydrated and balanced, and the dry areas on my forehead and chin (that I have struggled with during my pregnancy) appear to be evening out. This product is also certified organic, made in NZ and is free from parabens, mineral oils, artificial colours and fragrances and is not tested on animals. This is definitely a product that will become an essential part of my daily beauty routine.

3. Oasis Beauty – Fruit Smoothie Triple Action Exfoliator & Face Masque: The first thing I noticed about this product was how yummy it smelt, I am a sucker for lovely scents and instantly felt like I was on a tropical holiday as I applied this product to my face. I love a multipurpose product and used this as both a gentle exfoliator and masque. The jojoba beads combined with papaya and pineapple exfoliate away rough skin without stripping it raw, which is something I have found in the past with other scrubs that are too abrasive. This product is made in NZ and contains no artificial colours, fragrance, parabens or other scary stuff and its cruelty free. I also love the easy to dispense pump bottle, this is my new go-to face exfoliator.

4. Eco Store – Volumising Shampoo and Conditioner: I have been using the Normal Shampoo and Conditioner from Eco Store for a few months now so I was excited to test out the new ‘Volumising’ addition to the hair care range. This product is designed to gently nourish hair without stripping or coating it and is enriched with natural oils such as Argan and Avocado oil. I have very thick hair and found I prefer my trusted favourite - the normal shampoo and conditioner, however I would certainly recommend this for people with fine hair. Made in NZ and contains no nasty chemicals, parabens, synthetic dyes or perfumes and is cruelty free.

5. Steamcream: This all in one moisturiser is light and gentle on the skin, handmade using high-quality, natural ingredients that are fused together by a shot of steam. I love that this product is non greasy and instantly absorbed into the skin. Steamcream is vegan approved and not tested on animals, plus it comes in a gorgeous range of re-usable tins!

Please note: I will always state when a product/sample is gifted, however I only feature products that I personally endorse and aim to give my honest opinion at all times.
